Hydrotherapy is derived from the Greek word meaning ‘water healing’. It is controlled exercise in heated and sanitised water. Its benefits are due to the effects of the warmth and pressure of the water and particularly the buoyancy provided.
Hydrotherapy is an ideal tool for rehabilitation after orthopaedic surgery, tendon injuries or spinal and neurological problems. but also for degenerative joint disease/arthritis or even obesity.
We can offer hydrotherapy in a large heated pool as well as in an underwater treadmill. Depending on your pets’ problem we will discuss with you, which option would suit best.

Acupuncture
-

Acupuncture is the practice of inserting fine needles into the body for pain relief or in some cases to help the body with other diseases.
Treatment usually consists of once a week for 4 to 6 weeks. After 4 weeks we will know whether acupuncture is working for your pet. Then depending on the condition and how your pet responds, we will work out a plan that involves tailing off the treatment so that the effect is maintained for as long as possible.
 -

The needles block the pain messages and encourage the brain and central nervous system to produce more of the body’s natural pain killers. In conditions that are not painful, acupuncture may help rest the body’s normal function.
